Heritage Trails is a future initiative of the Roots and Rights Collective, designed to showcase the living heritage of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Our vision is to create a model of tourism that respects both the land and its people—where visitors experience culture not as a spectacle, but as a shared journey of learning, exchange, and care; ensuring that local communities are the true custodians and beneficiaries of their heritage.

Rooted in respect and reciprocity, we will invite mindful, small-group journeys that tread lightly on the land, while creating opportunities for communities through homestays, crafts, food, and guiding. Visitors will share in indigenous knowledge, rituals, and stories, experiencing culture as a living exchange. Above all, tourism will serve as a path to conservation—protecting both nature and heritage for generations to come.
This program is currently in its planning stage. We are beginning with the Cultural Memory Archive, our foundation program, which documents and preserves the cultural knowledge of indigenous communities. Once established, the Eco-Cultural Tourism initiative will gradually be launched as part of a broader vision for cultural preservation and community empowerment.
We invite interested individuals, organizations, and donors to connect with us in shaping this initiative. Together, we can design a model of tourism that sustains both heritage and environment.
We are a collective committed to keeping indigenous traditions alive
while advocating for dignity, rights, and shared stories.
